On Blackbirds, Masks
and Women

Blackbirds have long been a symbol of creation, mystery and power.  Anyone who takes on this identity (here as a mask) will be gifted with these same abilities.  Let's abandon the icon of a weaker sex and focus on, not physical strength, but psychological stamina, a metaphysical ability to see beyond a world masked by sensation.

A Place in Her Landscape:  Mother Nature and Human Nature

Rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief/Doctor, lawyer, Indian chief.

Small monotypes explore the relationship of man to the world that surrounds us.  A human portrait is placed among the natural elements of vegetable dyes, plant imprints and organic papers.  Color fields of oil pastel suggest unseen forces--light and emotion and time.
